DFM operates as a secondary market for the trading of securities issued by public shareholding companies, bonds issued by federal or local governments, local public institutions and mutual funds, as well as other local or foreign DFM-approved financial instruments.

DFM operates according to Shariah principles and is governed and regulated by the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA).

  • Once you place an order, it will be queued in the market.
  • When the order is executed, you will receive an SMS or email confirmation based on the service you have registered for while opening your brokerage account.
  • One of Emirates NBD Securities' call center agents will contact you after trading hours to confirm the offline trades for the day.
  • Settlement for trades takes place on a T+2 basis (where T is trading date).
  • Sell transactions executed on T (Trade Date) are settled on T+2. Cash proceeds from the sale will be available for withdrawal only on T+2. However, you can use the sale proceeds to place buy orders on the same day, i.e. T+0.
  • Emirates NBD Securities has launched a service enabling you to cash in sale proceeds of shares in DFM and ADX on the trading day (T+0) instead of standard settlement (T+2), up to a certain limit, subject to terms and conditions. To learn more, please click here.

Note: Please do not modify or cancel orders during the last five minutes of the market pre-open session (between 9:55 AM and 10:00 AM) as a penalty might be imposed if the market finds that such modifications / cancellations affect the market or other investors.
